1. Introduction

This Warranty and Returns Policy ("Policy") explains the rights and obligations of Customers regarding statutory legal guarantees, manufacturer's commercial warranties, warranty claims and the return of Products for inspection, repair or replacement.
This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of Sale and should be read together with:
• the Terms and Conditions of Sale;
• the Shipping Policy;
• the Privacy Policy; and
• the separate Right of Withdrawal Policy.
Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes any mandatory rights granted to Consumers under applicable law.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to Products purchased through www.goldenmaskdetectors.com, unless expressly stated otherwise.
It governs warranty claims relating to Products that are alleged to be defective or not in conformity with the Contract.
This Policy does not regulate the Consumer's statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract without providing a reason.
That right is governed exclusively by the separate Right of Withdrawal Policy.
Where mandatory consumer protection legislation grants Consumers rights that differ from this Policy, the applicable legislation shall prevail.

3. Consumer Statutory Rights

Consumers benefit from statutory legal rights where Products do not conform to the Contract at the time required by applicable law.
These statutory rights arise independently of any commercial warranty offered by the manufacturer.
Nothing contained in this Policy limits, excludes or replaces those statutory rights.
Where a Product lacks conformity with the Contract, Consumers may be entitled to one or more remedies provided by applicable legislation, including:
• repair;
• replacement;
• an appropriate price reduction; or
• termination of the sales contract and reimbursement of the purchase price,
subject to the conditions established by applicable law.
The Seller will always provide the remedy required by law under the circumstances of the individual case.

4. Manufacturer's Commercial Warranty

Many Products sold through the Website include a voluntary commercial warranty provided by the manufacturer.
The manufacturer's commercial warranty:
• is separate from the Consumer's statutory rights;
• supplements, but does not replace, the statutory legal guarantee;
• is governed by the manufacturer's published warranty conditions.
Where the manufacturer grants rights exceeding those required by law, Customers may benefit from those additional warranty terms.
The duration, scope and conditions of the commercial warranty vary depending on the Product.
Where mandatory consumer protection legislation provides Consumers with greater protection than the manufacturer's commercial warranty, the statutory rights shall prevail.

5. Products Covered

Unless expressly stated otherwise, this Policy applies to Products sold through the Website, including:
• metal detectors;
• search coils;
• control units;
• wireless modules;
• headphones;
• chargers;
• rechargeable batteries supplied with Products;
• carrying accessories;
• digging tools;
• search magnets;
• apparel and accessories; and
• other Products offered through the Website.
Certain consumable items or accessories may be subject to different warranty conditions where expressly stated on the relevant Product page or in the accompanying documentation.

6. Warranty Periods

The applicable warranty period depends on the Product purchased and the warranty provided by the manufacturer.
The applicable warranty period is specified on the Product page, in the accompanying documentation or in the manufacturer's warranty documentation supplied with the Product.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory legal guarantee applicable under mandatory consumer protection legislation.

7. Warranty Exclusions

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the manufacturer's commercial warranty does not normally cover defects or damage resulting from:
• accidental damage;
• improper handling;
• misuse;
• abuse;
• negligence;
• improper storage;
• improper transportation after delivery;
• failure to follow operating instructions;
• unauthorised repair;
• unauthorised modification;
• installation of unauthorised components;
• improper electrical supply;
• use of incompatible accessories;
• exposure to corrosive substances;
• fire;
• flooding;
• lightning;
• power surges;
• normal wear and tear;
• cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality.
The commercial warranty also does not normally cover defects resulting solely from failure to install firmware updates recommended by the manufacturer where such updates are necessary to correct known software issues.
A warranty claim will not automatically be rejected solely because a Product has been modified or repaired by a third party. Warranty coverage may be refused only where the Seller or manufacturer reasonably determines that the reported defect was caused by or is directly attributable to such modification or repair.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights granted by applicable consumer protection legislation.

7.1 Rechargeable Batteries

Rechargeable batteries are consumable components whose capacity naturally decreases over time through normal charging cycles and ordinary use.
Normal ageing, reduced operating time or gradual loss of battery capacity does not, by itself, constitute a manufacturing defect.
Manufacturing defects affecting batteries remain covered by the applicable statutory rights and any commercial warranty.

7.2 Search Coils

Search coils are designed for outdoor detecting and will normally develop superficial scratches, abrasions or similar cosmetic marks during ordinary use.
Such cosmetic wear does not indicate a manufacturing defect and does not affect the Consumer's statutory rights.

7.3 Digging Tools

Digging tools are intended for excavation in soil, sand and similar environments.
Surface scratches, coating wear and cosmetic signs of normal outdoor use are expected and do not constitute manufacturing defects.

7.4 Water Resistance

Products advertised as water-resistant or waterproof must only be used within the limitations specified by the manufacturer. Damage caused by use beyond the Product's stated ingress protection (IP) rating, failure to properly secure seals or battery compartments, or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions is not covered by the commercial warranty unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

7.5 Firmware and Software

Manufacturers may periodically release firmware or software updates that improve performance, add features or correct software issues.
The availability of such updates does not, by itself, indicate that a Product was defective at the time of delivery.

8. Technical Assistance Before Return

Before returning a Product for warranty service, Customers are encouraged to contact our technical support team.
Many reported issues can be resolved without returning the Product through:
• operating guidance;
• configuration assistance;
• firmware update recommendations;
• battery inspection;
• search coil connection checks;
• compatibility verification;
• troubleshooting procedures.
Providing technical assistance before return often avoids unnecessary shipping costs and significantly reduces the time required to resolve an issue.
Participation in technical troubleshooting is entirely voluntary and does not affect any statutory rights available to Consumers.

9. Reporting a Defect

Customers who believe that a Product is defective should notify the Seller as soon as reasonably practicable after discovering the issue.
To facilitate assessment of the claim, Customers may be asked to provide:
• the Order number;
• proof of purchase;
• the Product serial number, where applicable;
• a detailed description of the reported defect;
• photographs showing the Product and the reported issue;
• photographs of the serial number label, where available;
• video recordings illustrating the reported malfunction, where appropriate.
Providing complete information at the outset often enables the Seller to diagnose the issue more quickly and may avoid unnecessary shipment of the Product.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory rights available to Consumers.

10. Warranty Assessment

Where a Product is returned for inspection, the Seller or, where appropriate, the manufacturer may perform reasonable technical examinations to determine:
• whether the reported defect exists;
• whether the Product lacks conformity with the Contract;
• whether the reported issue results from a manufacturing defect, transport damage, normal wear and tear or external causes;
• whether repair or replacement is the appropriate remedy.
The Customer will be informed of the outcome of the assessment within a reasonable period, taking into account the complexity of the examination, the availability of spare parts and, where applicable, the manufacturer's involvement.
Warranty assessments are carried out in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation and without prejudice to the Consumer's statutory rights.

11. Available Remedies

Where a Product is found to lack conformity with the Contract, the Customer may be entitled to the remedies provided by applicable consumer protection legislation.
Depending on the circumstances of the individual case and the requirements of applicable law, the Seller may provide one or more of the following remedies:
• repair of the Product;
• replacement with an identical or equivalent Product;
• an appropriate reduction of the purchase price; or
• termination of the sales contract and reimbursement of the purchase price.
The appropriate remedy shall be determined in accordance with applicable legislation, taking into account factors including: • the nature of the defect;
• the value of the Product if it were free from defects;
• whether the requested remedy would impose disproportionate costs compared to another available remedy; and
• whether the alternative remedy can be provided without significant inconvenience to the Customer.
Nothing in this Policy limits the Consumer's mandatory statutory rights.

12. Return Authorisation (RMA)

To ensure efficient handling of warranty claims, Customers should contact the Seller before returning any Product for inspection or warranty service.
Where appropriate, the Seller may issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation ("RMA") reference or provide return instructions. The Customer may be asked to provide:
• the Order number;
• proof of purchase;
• the Product serial number, where applicable;
• a description of the reported defect;
• photographs or videos illustrating the issue.
Products returned without sufficient identification may experience delays in processing while ownership and the relevant Order are verified.
The Seller reserves the right to refuse deliveries that have not been authorised where the sender cannot be identified or where the shipment does not relate to a warranty claim.

13. Shipping Products for Warranty Service

Where a Product must be returned for inspection, repair or replacement, the Seller will provide the Customer with the appropriate shipping instructions.
Customers should ensure that Products are securely packaged to minimise the risk of damage during transport. Where reasonably possible, returned Products should include:
• all components relevant to the reported defect;
• accessories required to reproduce the issue, where applicable;
• a copy of the proof of purchase or Order reference; and
• a description of the reported problem.
Customers are encouraged to retain proof of shipment until the warranty claim has been resolved.
Responsibility for shipping costs shall be determined in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation, the manufacturer's commercial warranty conditions and the circumstances of the individual warranty claim.

14. Inspection and Testing

Returned Products may undergo visual inspection, functional testing and technical diagnostics.
Testing may include verification of:
• reported defects;
• operating conditions;
• firmware version;
• electrical integrity;
• accessory compatibility;
• mechanical condition; and
• signs of accidental damage or unauthorised modification.
Inspection procedures are intended solely to determine the appropriate warranty remedy and to verify whether the reported issue is covered by statutory rights or the manufacturer's commercial warranty.
Where no defect is identified, or where the reported issue results from normal operation or user configuration, the Seller will explain the findings to the Customer and, where appropriate, provide technical guidance.

15. Out-of-Warranty Repairs

Where a reported issue is not covered by statutory rights or the manufacturer's commercial warranty, the Seller may, where reasonably practicable, offer out-of-warranty repair services.
The availability of such services depends on factors including:
• availability of spare parts;
• technical feasibility;
• manufacturer support; and
• the condition of the Product.
Before any chargeable repair is carried out, the Customer will be informed of the estimated costs, where reasonably possible. No chargeable repair work will be performed without the Customer's prior agreement.
Where repair is not economically or technically feasible, the Seller will inform the Customer accordingly.

15.1 Genuine Replacement Parts

Where repairs are performed by the Seller or in cooperation with the manufacturer, genuine replacement parts will be used whenever reasonably available.
If genuine replacement parts are no longer available, the Seller will inform the Customer before any alternative solution is proposed.

15.2 Repair Times

Repair times vary depending on:
• the nature of the reported defect;
• availability of replacement parts;
• workload of authorised service facilities;
• transport times; and
• manufacturer involvement.
Any estimated repair timeframe is provided for guidance only and does not constitute a guaranteed completion date.

16. Business Customers

Unless mandatory legislation provides otherwise, Business Customers do not benefit from the statutory consumer protection rights available exclusively to Consumers.
Commercial warranty claims submitted by Business Customers are governed by:
• the sales contract;
• the manufacturer's commercial warranty, where applicable; and
• the relevant provisions of Bulgarian law governing commercial transactions.
Nothing in this section limits any rights expressly granted to Business Customers under the applicable contract or mandatory legislation.

17. Limitation of Warranty

Except where prohibited by mandatory law:
• the commercial warranty applies only to the original purchaser unless expressly stated otherwise by the manufacturer;
• warranty service does not extend the original warranty period unless required by applicable law;
• replacement Products may consist of new or refurbished components of equivalent quality and performance, where permitted by applicable law and the manufacturer's warranty conditions.
Nothing in this section affects the Consumer's statutory legal rights.
